This tutorial will show you how to request CRL materials found in Melvyl using InterLibrary Loan.

To see an example of how you might request something from CRL, follow these steps:

  • Click on the Melvyl tab in the search box on the library homepage.

  • Copy and paste this phrase in the search box: "women and development: gender concerns."
  • Click Go.
  • Click on "Women and Development: Gender Concerns" by Kamud Sharma.

You will see that this item is part of the Center for Research Libraries collection.

To request this item, you would follow these steps:

  • Click the gold Request button.
  • Enter your UCMnet ID (jdoe5) for your Library Card/Account Number.
  • Click Next.
  • Enter your UCM email address.
  • Click Next.
  • Verify the request information and click Request it! to submit the request.

You can also find materials by searching the CRL catalog (copy and paste this link into a new tab if you don't want to open the link in the tutorial pane).

Items found in the CRL catalog cannot be requested directly from the CRL site. To request items found in the CRL catalog:

  • Enter the title for the item you found in the CRL catalog in the Melvyl tab in the search box on the library homepage.
  • Click Go.

  • Click on the title of the item you want, and repeat the steps you followed earlier in this tutorial to request the item.
